Quick one. We’ve just launched a new website for NEC Ltd Electrical, the trading name for Northamptonshire Electrical Contractors, based on Charles Street in Kettering.
Have a look: necltd.net.
NEC isn’t your usual electrician job. They’re a NICEIC-approved, CHAS-accredited design and build contractor working with main contractors, facilities teams and end clients across industrial, commercial and educational projects. HV and LV distribution, switchgear, PV, lightning protection, fire and security systems, data containment, the lot. The audience is project managers, QSes and procurement leads, so the site has to qualify NEC quickly and seriously. Nobody’s clicking “Get a quote” on their phone at half six in the morning here.
The new site is built around how their work actually gets won:
- Design and Build positioning up top. “Professional Design & Build Electrical Services” makes the value proposition obvious to anyone arriving from a Google search or a referral.
- Services grouped by capability, not random tags. Design & Technical, Power Infrastructure, Lighting Systems, Security & Safety, and Data & Communications. Each one gets its own page and a clear, bullet-by-bullet scope.
- Accreditations and H&S front and centre. NICEIC, CHAS, ECS/CSCS, SSSTS-credentialed supervisors, and an independent H&S consultant. For commercial work, that’s not a nice-to-have. It’s the qualifier that gets you onto the tender list.
- Projects, Locations and News pages to support local visibility and give procurement teams the proof points they need before picking up the phone.
- Fast, lightweight build. No bloated WordPress theme, no clunky page builder. Pages load quickly, work on a phone in a hi-vis vest, and are easy for the NEC team to keep extending as they grow.
If you’re a commercial trade still trying to make a glossy, domestic-style template work for B2B enquiries (emergency callout banners, quick-quote forms, the works), it’s worth seeing how a B2B-shaped site like this one looks instead. Clear capabilities, real photography of completed work, and a single, calm CTA pointing at a proper project enquiry form.
