A couple of months on from launch, and the new website for Dove Cottage Day Hospice has been really well received. It is a massive step up from what they had before: clearer for visitors, easier for the team, and built to support the things that matter for a hospice, referrals, donations, volunteering, and finding the right support quickly.

Astro for speed, Sanity for editing
The foundation is Astro, the same stack we use for most new website design projects now. Fast, lightweight pages that load properly on a phone, which is how a lot of people find a local hospice when they need help.
We linked that with a CMS called Sanity. That gives Dove Cottage the flexibility to add their own content, publish news and events, and make day-to-day changes without waiting on a developer for every small tweak. Bigger design or technical work still comes to us, and they are on a website care plan, which keeps that simple.
From request to getting the task done is often hours on a working day. The team are happy they can roll changes out quickly when something needs updating, a new event, a fundraising push, a shop update, without the old “we’ll get to it next week” lag.
Built for donations and clear next steps
A hospice site has a lot of jobs. Explain care. Make a referral. Donate. Volunteer. Find a shop. Hire facilities. The new build puts those paths in the open: strong CTAs, clear service blocks, and pages that make sense whether you are a family looking for support or someone who wants to give.
