Terms & Conditions: Two-Year Warranty

dotwall Web Design offers a Two-Year Warranty on all websites developed and published by us. This warranty covers issues that arise due to errors or faults on our part. However, it comes with the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility

The two-year warranty applies to websites that are either:

• Hosted and maintained by dotwall Web Design as part of a maintenance plan, or
• Self-hosted by the client, provided no updates or changes are made without our knowledge.

2. Scope of Warranty

The warranty covers:

• Issues or bugs related to the design, code, or general functionality that originate from dotwall Web Design.
• Any issues arising from updates made by us as part of the ongoing maintenance of the website.

3. Excluded From Warranty

The following scenarios are not covered by the warranty:

• Client-led changes: If you or any third-party make changes to the website without dotwall Web Design’s involvement, this includes:
  • Updating WordPress core, plugins, themes, or other software.
  • Modifying the design or code.
• Corruptions or failures caused by client actions or unauthorised updates that compromise the website’s integrity.

4. Monitoring System

We use a monitoring system to track changes and updates made to the website. If our system detects changes that were not authorised or approved by us, and those changes cause issues, the warranty will be void.

5. Maintaining Warranty for Self-Hosted Sites

If you choose to host your website independently, please be aware that we won’t be able to provide a warranty. This is primarily because we can’t manage critical aspects like updates and security, which are essential for a stable WordPress site. WordPress sites encounter issues mainly due to unchecked plugin updates (without proper staging) and inadequate hosting security. Low-cost hosting options increase vulnerability to attacks, which is beyond our control. For full warranty coverage, your website must be hosted on dotwall’s hosting and maintenance care plan, ensuring secure updates, backups, and proactive management.

6. Liability Limitations

The warranty covers only issues directly related to dotwall Web Design’s development and does not include any third-party services, hosting providers, or additional functionality not implemented by us. Under no circumstances does the warranty cover damages caused by the client, third-party interventions, or issues unrelated to the original build.

7. Warranty Extensions & Renewals

After the two-year period, you can purchase additional maintenance plans or extended warranty coverage at an additional cost to continue receiving support and updates. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that the warranty is conditional on the website being maintained by us or a qualified professional and agree not to make unauthorised changes that could affect the site’s functionality.
